Job descriptionAdmitting patients to the hospital from the emergency department or transferring them from other facilities Providing comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients throughout the night, including performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans Managing critically ill patients, including those in the intensive care unit (ICU). They may perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, or chest tube insertion as needed Communicating with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team to provide updates on patient status, discuss treatment plans, and address any concerns or questions Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment interventions, and care plans in the medical record Participating in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, improving clinical outcomes, and optimizing healthcare delivery processes within the hospital Performing other duties, as needed Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of New York Board Eligible / Certified in Internal Medicine
