American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with strong PICU experience and DC licensure for a Magnet teaching hospital environment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool of a Level I Trauma Magnet teaching hospitalPatient population includes pediatric critical care patients across PICU, CVPICU, and NICU; may care for patients of any ageNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 in PICU / CVPICU, and up to 1 : 3 in NICUDay (7 : 00-19 : 30) and night (19 : 00-7 : 30) shifts are available, 3x12s scheduleEvery other weekend and holiday coverage required; block scheduling for weekends may be consideredFloating required between PICU, CVPICU, and NICU within scopeCharting is done using Cerner EMRProvide high acuity care to pediatric critical care patients, floating as needed across unitsOrientation includes required pre-start modules (minimum of 20 hours), to be completed before startScrubs must be child-friendly with any color permitted and no logosLocals are accepted at the same pay rate with no local radius restrictionsOnly one holiday off is guaranteed per contract; requests must be submitted with time off at applicationRTO capped at 7 consecutive days; a consecutive week off requires extension of the contractCompliance documentation and module completion must be finalized before start datePrevious employees must have a one-year separation before applying as a travelerReferences may be requested during the onboarding process\n \n Requirements\n
