Position Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Kinbridge at Oviedo provides hands-on care, support, and supervision to residents within our Assisted Living Facility. The CNA assists with personal care, activities of daily living (ADLs), health monitoring, and medication assistance (with a required Med Tech certification). This role is essential to ensuring residents receive attentive, respectful, and high-quality care in a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Personal Support
Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.
Support mobility needs such as transfers, ambulation, and safe use of assistive devices.
Assist with meals, hydration, and monitoring nutritional needs.
Ensure residents are neat, comfortable, and treated with dignity at all times.
Medication Assistance (Med Tech Required)
Assist with medication administration in accordance with ALF policies and Med Tech certification :
Preparing and bringing medications to residents.
Reading labels and ensuring correct self-administration.
Assisting with topical medications.
Documenting medication assistance in MARs.
CNA may not administer injections or perform clinical nursing tasks.
Health Monitoring
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, behavioral, or emotional condition.
Take and record vital signs as required.
Notify nursing leadership of any concerns promptly and accurately.
Environment Safety & Support
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to resident care areas.
Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
Communication & Team Collaboration
Communicate effectively with nurses, caregivers, residents, and families.
Participate in shift reports and ensure seamless transitions of care.
Document all care activities clearly and consistently.
Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Resident Engagement & Emotional Support
Build rapport and provide encouragement, companionship, and emotional support.
Promote independence and involvement in activities when appropriate.
Advocate for residents’ needs and preferences respectfully and professionally.
Required Qualifications
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license – Florida.
Med Tech certification required (or willingness to complete upon hire).
Prior ALF, memory care, or developmental disability experience preferred.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed.
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
Must pass AHCA Level 2 background screening.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
