Responsibilities :

  • Perform electrical installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs, and / or solicits proposals for work on low voltage control circuits up to 480V for various systems, MCC's, MDPs, emergency generators, transfer switches, transformers, VFDs and PLC's.
  • Develop parts lists, submit orders, establish timelines, and direct support staff for project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes, NEC, and local regulations.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Collaborate with mechanics, fabricators, and team members on projects.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and ohmmeters efficiently.
  • Assist with general shop and non-electrical tasks as needed.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Participate in the site's Electrical Safety Team.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies outside normal working hours.
  • Adhere to GMP documentation and cleanroom work requirements.
  • Coordinate work with the Planner / Scheduler to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of work orders and projects.
  • Coordinate and implement sitewide power shutdowns for various systems.
  • Supervise electrical system performance and recommend improvements.

Qualifications :

  • Completion of a formal electrical apprentice program or a 2- or 4-year electrical technical degree
  • Five years of experience in electrical work in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proven experience acting in a lead electrician role and directing personnel activities
  • Must be trained and practice safe work procedures and demonstrate knowledge of NFPA70E, Lock Out / Tag Out Systems.
  • Proven knowledge and working experience with building electrical utility generation and distributions systems, MCCs / MDPs, emergency generators, transfer switches, transformers, VFDs, infrared scanning.
  • Valid driver's license to travel between sites.
