Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Manage export recordkeeping and retention in accordance with corporate and legal standards
- Monitor freight forwarders for timely and accurate AES filings and shipment execution
- Provide export / import freight quotes and review customer profiles and rate structure.
- Cross-Train with internal teams on import and trade operations
- Confirm and coordinate international export orders and manual shipments.
- Provide backup support for export freight logistics and outbound domestic shipments.
- Coordinate freight for trade shows and exhibitions and drop ship orders.
- Familiarity and execution of denied party screening.
- Well versed in Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Manage transactions to optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Review and approve freight invoices; ensure proper coding and timely submission.
- Support with negotiating contracts with carriers and vendors.
- Monitor traffic and cost budget compliance; report deviations to management.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain departmental records
- Resolve import / export-related issues.
Advanced Duties
Apply full-spectrum knowledge of Incoterms 2020 to support global trade operations.Demonstrate expertise in HTS, ECCN, Schedule B codes, country of origin, and export licensing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify information gaps and improve processes.Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods regulations.Manage transactions to optimize cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.Review and approve freight invoices, ensuring proper coding and timely submission.Support contract negotiations with carriers and logistics vendors.Monitor traffic and cost budget compliance; report deviations to management.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics performance and customer satisfaction.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.35 years of experience in import / export trade compliance.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT).Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and international logistics.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and critical thinkingMust be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for USPreferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle or similar ERP / TMS systems.Experience with air, ocean, and truck transportation.IATA trained.This role is eligible for hybrid work.
