Your Role on the Team

Position Summary :

Collects blood specimens from patients of all ages of diverse population from newborn to geriatric population using appropriate vein-puncture and skin puncture techniques. Accessions requests and processes specimens for testing or referral to outside reference laboratories. Provides clerical, billing, reception, and other support functions for all laboratory sections. Performs other duties as assigned. Reports to Laboratory Manager / Director.

Required Qualifications :

• California Phlebotomy License. BLS certification.
• One year previous laboratory experience in a hospital environment preferred
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
