Job description

We are seeking a General Surgeon for an 8-day locum tenens assignment in Nebraska, starting Dec 24, 2025. This opportunity features 24-hour weekend call coverage, including rounding on 3 to 10 patients and handling new consults. Ideal for surgeons with experience in gallbladder, hernia, bowel obstruction, and appendix cases.

  • Schedule : 24-hour call from Dec 24, 2025 at 7 a.m. through Jan 1, 2026; weekend call, rounding on 3 to 10 patients, 0 to 3 new consults

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 24-hour call coverage, including weekends
  • Round on 3 to 10 patients daily
  • Manage new surgical consults (0 to 3 per shift)
  • Respond to cases involving gallbladder, hernia, bowel obstruction, and appendix
  • Deliver timely and effective patient care during call shifts

    • Additional Information

  • Must hold a Nebraska medical license
  • Required board certification : General Surgery
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Call backs are infrequent
