Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our busy repair shop. In this role, you will diagnose and repair issues with vehicles' performance and function, supporting our fleet and outside trucks.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of vehicle systems and components, maintain repair shop equipment, prepare cost estimates, and foster a welcoming environment.

Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to explain vehicle issues clearly and provide valuable advice to customers.

Responsibilities :

• Inspect and repair vehicles with diesel engines
• Run diagnostic tests
• Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes
• Interpret diagnostic test results
• Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans
• Manage a team of trainees
• Collaborate with other diesel mechanics
• Present reports and plans to clients for approval

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program (preferred)
• ASE or SAE certification (preferred)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
