The ERP System Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining trend data from Global Shop Solutions ERP system to monitor shop floor labor efficiency, work order performance, and production trends. This role will transform raw time and job data into actionable insights that help improve scheduling accuracy, labor utilization, and throughput across all production departments.
The ideal candidate combines strong data analysis skills with hands-on understanding of manufacturing operations and familiarity with Global Shop's reporting tools, job costing modules, and shop floor time tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, analyze, and validate labor and work order data from Global Shop ERP system to monitor job performance and production trends.
- Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and reports in tools such as Power BI or Excel, integrating Global Shop data through SQL queries or report exports.
- Track and trend actual vs. estimated hours, identifying variances by job type, department, or operator.
- Build models to analyze labor efficiency, utilization, setup vs. run time, and idle hours.
- Support production leadership in identifying bottlenecks, capacity issues, and process inefficiencies based on time-tracking data.
- Create weekly and monthly performance summaries that highlight key metrics such as :
Work order completion rate and timeliness
Labor efficiency (earned vs. actual hours)Machine and operator utilizationDepartmental and shift-level performance trendsCollaborate with Production Supervisors, Scheduling, and Engineering to interpret results and implement improvement actions.Maintain data integrity by ensuring proper time-entry practices and reconciling discrepancies in Global Shop records.Assist in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives by quantifying impacts of process changes.Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience in production analysis.Experience working with Global Shop ERP system.Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, macros) and Power BI or similar BI tools.Strong analytical skills in SQL, data validation, and trend analysis.Solid understanding of shop floor processes, job routing, and labor tracking in a manufacturing environment.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into clear operational insights.Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Global Shop’s custom reporting and dashboard tools, including the Data Viewer, Advanced Analytics, and Report Writer modules.Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.Understanding of job costing, variance analysis, and throughput optimization.Ability to automate routine reporting and integrate Global Shop exports into visual dashboards.Performance Metrics
