Job Purpose
Lead, support, and execute WE (Weld) Department White Body quality strategies and solutions to meet customer expectations based on the requirements of daily production. New model, Business Plan, and / or innovation, to ensure the sustainment or enhancement of SQCDME (safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, environmental).
Key Accountabilities
- Ability to conduct a Weld situation analysis and lead / support the activity in addressing quality concerns.
- Ability to utilize scanbox, laser gauge and fixture data to perform Weld quality data analysis to identify gaps in system closure requirements and create trend reports.
- Ability to pull quality data from QICS (Quality Input Control System), GDP (Global Direct Pass) and Business Objects and development countermeasure activity to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ability to use a portable CMM (coordinate measuring machine)to collect white body or comp data.
- Knowledge of CBU (Complete Body Unit) fit and finish requirements.
- Ability to develop a Weld quality datum structure strategy.
- Drawing interpretation skills.
- Knowledgeable of Weld equipment and design intent.
- Ability to create a new model to mass pro transition plan using an analytical decision method to ensure we have no Weld quality impacts to any SQCMDE.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant engineering experience.3-5 years experience in a Manufacturing environment.Experience with manufacturing processes, good communicator, laboratory measurement experience, problem solving skills.Knowledge or ability to utilize various systems (digital / software) to enhance the analysis and reporting of quality data to streamline and expedite the quality cycle.Working Conditions
