The Speech and Language Pathology Assistant will perform services and consultation with teachers at a school site, provide activities designed to develop language skills and articulation skills, including speech production, vocalization and social pragmatics in students with speech / language disorders. Other duties may include administrative work, meetings, and collaborations with staff and parent.

What You Will Do :

• Conduct speech-language screenings using a variety of screening tools and techniques
• Follow documented therapy plans
• Document student progress in Welligent system
• Prepare therapy materials for use in pullout small group setting or in classroom setting
• Adapt or modify instructional materials as determined by student need and abilities for teacher-use in the classroom
• Consult with general ed teachers to co-plan instructional materials or implement strategies
• Track performance data using progress monitoring tools and report progress on IEP goals
• Communicate progress to parents, teachers and Speech Language Pathologist in regular meetings, phone conversations and progress notes
• Participate in IEP process; attend meetings when appropriate and attend parent conferences
• Creates and maintains safe, positive environment for students
• Collaborates with members of IEP Team, Special Education team and School site teams
• Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
