The LA County Board of Supervisors recently declared a local state of emergency for homelessness and the County is working to revise and expand our response to help all who are affected. We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of addressing issues like housing mental health and substance use. The Department of Justice Care and Opportunities is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Justice Program Analyst vacancies related to the homelessness crisis.
Undertheemergencyorderapplicantswhomeettherequirementsmaybehiredforaninitialperiodofupto90dayswith an opportunity for permanent County employment.
Before the end of your initial work period you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.
Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Justice Program Analyst.

Option I : A Bachelors Degree
Option II : Four years of experience performingassignments in healthsocial services orjustice program analysistwo years of which must have been at the level of Justice Program Associate
Option Ill : Graduation from an accredited college
Option IV : TwoyearsexperienceatthelevelofInvestigatorPretrial ServicesProbation
License : A validCalifornia Class C Driver License orthe ability to utilize analternative method of transportationto carry out job-related essential functions.
Physical Class : Light - This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

NOTE : For the purposes of this recruitment fields of study that are to be considered a discipline related to the core business function of the department as outlined in the above Requirements to Qualify are as follows :
Endorsement of County Qualifications :
County employees who wish to qualify using experience gained in county classifications that are not at the level of the classifications listed above must provide verification of qualifying out-of-class experience by providing official documentation of additional responsibility bonus out-of-class bonus temporary assignment bonus or reclassification study with CEO Classification with your application at the time of filing or within seven (7) calendar days from application submission . Employees do not need to submit such verification if they hold or have held a position at the level of any of the qualifying classifications listed above.
Withhold Information :
Interested applicants may file for this examination if they are within three (3) months (90 calendar days) of meeting the education requirements by the last day of filing. The names of such applicants will be withheld from the certification list until proof of completion of the required education has been submitted and verified.

EXAM CONTENT :
Before the end of your initial work assignment the appointing department will evaluate your performance. Those who achieve a passing score on this evaluation will be considered for permanent appointment.
Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Justice Program Analyst.
Under the emergency order applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days with an opportunity for permanent County employment.
Background Process :
Appointment to this position is contingent upon successful clearance of all pre-employment screening and onboarding requirements. This position requires live scan clearance.

Veterans Credit :
Pursuant to the County Charter and County policy in all open competitive examinations (i.e. examinations open to everyone) the County of Los Angeles will add a credit of 10 percent of the total credits specified for such examination to the final passing score of an honorably discharged veteran as well as the spouse of a deceased or disabled veteran who served in the Armed Forces of the United States under specific conditions.
