What You'll Do :
- Perform field service activities including preventative / routine maintenance, installation, calibration, and emergency support on low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Point Eight Power and competitor equipment including breakers, shutdown switches, wiring harnesses, alternators, and battery systems.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and electrical control maintenance practices, including arc-resistant systems and field surveys.
- Provide technical expertise and customer education on maintenance solutions with minimal supervision.
- Support and mentor junior technicians under guidance of senior field service staff.
- Deliver safe, high-quality work by following all safety standards and providing emergency on-call services when required.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Sales teams to ensure accurate service estimations, cost reductions, and parts recommendations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold company standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications
High School Diploma / GED Required.Must reside in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, or Mississippi (Required).Technical diploma in Industrial Electrical, Maintenance, or related field preferred.EGSA Certification preferred.Experience
3+ years’ experience in installation, testing, maintenance, or reliability of generators, governors, regulators, or switchgear.3+ years’ experience in power generation, utilities, oil & gas, marine, or energy industries.Strong background in electrical controls (required).Engineering or PLC programming experience (preferred).Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Customer Service : Skilled in assessing needs, solving problems, and ensuring satisfaction.Technical Expertise : Strong troubleshooting of electrical / mechanical systems and controls.Equipment Maintenance : Knowledge of Point Eight Power and competitor products.Controls & Design : Familiar with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Quantum, Premium), relay programming (Basler, Multilin, Sepam, Woodward, etc.), and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, Fiber Optic).Mechanical / Electrical Tools : Proficient with multimeters, wrenches, drills, wiring tools, and soldering.Software : Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with GE, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Woodward devices.Safety Compliance : Commitment to safety practices and regulatory compliance.Communication : Strong verbal / written skills to interact with clients and produce reports.Math : Intermediate skills in calculations, proportions, and measurements.Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license with a clear record (past 7 years).Liability insurance.TWIC and valid Passport (required).Firefighting, scaffolding, first aid, and CPR certifications.Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including internationally.Requirements :
