American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certification, and a NE or compact license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Progressive Care Unit (stepdown) of an acute care hospitalAdult patient population with mixed medical / surgical, cardiac, and stroke cases, frequently admitted through the ERUnit has 28 beds and maintains a 1 : 4 RN-to-patient ratioRNs are required to titrate drips including heparin, octreotide, insulin, and maintenance IV medsRNs must read and interpret telemetry monitoringStandard shift is 12-hour nights (1830-0700)Weekend coverage required every other weekendRotating holidays with permanent staffFloating required to Med / Surg and other hospital areas, including ICU / ED for appropriate patient careUses Epic EMR systemSpecialty equipment includes code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lifts, sit and stand devicesRNs must pass a unit-specific open book exam on orientation (minimum score of 90% required)Artificial nails are not permitted in patient care departmentsFirst week includes classroom orientation, followed by two 12-hour shiftsHigh-flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and dischargesSupport from charge nurse, nurse aides (1 : 14), unit secretary (2-3 days / wk), and stocking clerk (3 days / wk)Navy blue scrubs are requiredRequested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 days per 13-week contractCandidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible\n \n Requirements\n
