Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 12 beds Care for high-acuity patients, including those with language barriers, substance abuse, and chronic pregnancy-related conditions Labor & Delivery experience must include antepartum, intrapartum, cesarean section, postpartum, and magnesium sulfate administration Required to work 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A), every other weekend, and major holidays On-call requirement of up to 24 hours per 6 weeks Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 1-2 depending on unit needs May float within the New Life Center or to other L&D units in Richmond as needed Uses equipment such as warmers, GE monitors, pulse oximeters, and blood glucose monitors Preferred experience with EPIC and Perinatal Centricity (QS) EMRs Responsible for comprehensive care planning, coordination, and evaluation for women and newborns across all stages of the childbirth process Functions collaboratively within an interprofessional team to optimize maternal, neonatal, and women's health outcomes Patient population may include high-risk cases involving language or socioeconomic barriers Must participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives within the department Requires holiday coverage as assigned Scrubs / dress code details will be provided upon assignment Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certifications required Minimum 1-2 years of recent hospital-based Labor & Delivery nursing experience required Preferred experience in fetal heart monitoring, OR, cardiac monitoring, and blood glucose monitoring Ability to scrub and assist in deliveries is preferred Must have experience administering magnesium sulfate Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Pass / fail EKG testing required on first day with two attempts allowed Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632661.
