Travel Nurse RN - Med / Surg / Telemetry - $1,913 per week in Charlotte, NC

Job Title : RN - MedSurg / Tele Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum of 2 years as a PCU RN required License : Active Registered Nurse License Certifications : BLS and ACLS required Must-Have : EPIC experience required General Cardiac skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation Experience with TR bands is a must Experience with femoral sheaths preferred Description : This position is for an RN in the MedSurg / Tele specialty. The unit primarily serves as a cardiac post-procedural unit. The average daily census consists of approximately 19 patients. Daily admissions typically include 8-10 post-procedural patients. The unit handles various procedures such as TAVR, STEMI, angioplasty, stenting, and heart catheters. Other conditions treated include heart failure, AFIB / RVR, SVT, and chest pain. Patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4 during the day and 1 : 4-5 at night. There are two CNAs per shift, but no CNAs in the PACU space. The RN will manage cardiac medication drips and other interventions. Support staff includes receptionists, charge nurses, and a phlebotomy team. Nurses are responsible for reading monitors and responding to telemetry alerts. The unit culture is fast-paced and requires teamwork and flexibility. Travelers are expected to assist peers with various tasks, fostering a collaborative environment. No weekend rotation is currently required, and holiday expectations involve working 75% of designated holidays. Shifts will alternate between days and nights based on the schedule cycle.
