Harvest Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving PreK-12. HPA is dedicated to providing students a dynamic academic program of student centered instruction in a college preparatory setting. We are currently accepting resumes for the position AZ Certified Cross Category Special Education Teacher.

Duties :

To provide instruction to facilitate learning which enables all students to reach their academic potential and become responsible, productive citizens. Establish learning objectives which reflect the current district guidelines and objectives. Determine appropriate program of study to meet specific needs of all students. Provide instruction based on established objectives and individual student needs. Motivate students to maximize their learning potential and ensure that all students have successful experiences. Maintain high expectations for all students. Maintain positive effective classroom management procedures in compliance with school and district guidelines. Maintain appropriate student records and documentation. Communicate effectively and consistently with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Adhere to all Board policies and / or rules, Arizona Revised Statutes, and federal regulations pertaining to education. Attend staff and in service meetings, workshops, and school functions as directed. Demonstrate knowledge of subject(s) taught. Work with principal and director of student services to identify the educational needs and learning or physical capabilities of students. Develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student, ensuring that it reflects the latest psychological evaluation, and provide instruction according to each student's IEP. Develop a working and cooperative rapport with students' parents or guardians to provide continuity support between school and home. Collaborate with all teachers to ensure the successful mainstreaming of special education students. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Must be AZ Certified Cross Category in Special Education. Have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents. Provide previous work (professional) references, three letters of recommendation or a placement file.
