Bed Management Coordinator - Per Diem

Job Description

Coordinates intra-department and intra-hospital transfers, ensuring continuity of all necessary communication between departments.

Job Responsibility

• Assigns and facilitates patient bed assignments according to hospital patient aggregation.
• Accepts phone calls from attending physician offices for direct admissions Reviews specific orders that may impact bed placement (i.e. : one-on-one constant observation, telemetry needs, pending lab specimens, admit orders for medicine teams).
• Collects data for Zone alerts (admissions, discharges, bed demands / availability status of surge units, etc.).
• Collates data from Teletracking to provide information needed for daily bed meeting template.
• Escalates bed management problems to a registered nurse.
