The Designer, Home Textiles at Coyuchi manages the design process from product trend + ideation through final line review. Working under the leadership of the Design Director, the role’s primary responsibilities are to design beautiful, innovative, and sustainable products that tell the stories of our brand + support the growth of core product categories. The Designer works closely alongside the Product Development, Merchandising, & Production teams to bring to life beautiful, unique, sustainably sourced products. This person should have deep knowledge and passion for Home textiles, appreciation of elevated and sustainable design practices and be a creative problem solver.
Design product from concept through final line (adoption)
Research seasonal and competitor trends, colors, materials exploring new materials and techniques to elevate the brand
Create product in accordance with seasonal themes and stories and work to ensure new product will align with these goals
Produce product artwork in both print and digital form for line presentations and vendor development
Create and maintain seasonal visuals (current line assortment + new)
Ensure all pre-production activities are completed on time, and in accordance with Coyuchi sustainability and quality standards
Design processes and presentation
Document the design process, seasonal themes, and product qualities to share with the rest of the company
Maintain the Product Dossier updated and the Coyuchi Design DNA guidelines
Present the line during Design review, Proto Review, FLR and at Season Launch
Minimum of 4+ years designing and developing Home Textiles, Bedding and Bath experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in textile design or related field preferred
Understanding of fabric qualities and constructions, techniques, and how they affect quality, suitability and costing
Must be proficient in Adobe CS / CC, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Google Suite, Knowledge of Asana
Experience with international communications and working with overseas vendors
