Ortho Med / Surg Nurse – Dayshift – Tyler, TX
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ortho Med / Surg Nurse to join our dedicated team in Tyler, Texas. In this role, you will provide specialized care to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures and medical-surgical treatments, playing a critical part in their recovery and overall well-being. This is a full time position with a sign on bonus.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care for patients pre- and post-orthopedic surgery, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
- Monitor patient vital signs and progress, identifying and reporting any complications such as infections or mobility challenges.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management interventions tailored to orthopedic and medical-surgical needs.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, physical therapists, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, and lifestyle adjustments to promote optimal recovery.
- Assist with wound care, castings, splints, and other orthopedic-related treatments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
Qualifications :
Current and valid RN license.Experience in orthopedic or medical-surgical nursing, preferably with demonstrated skills in patient assessment, pain management, and post-operative care.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.A compassionate approach to patient care with attention to detail and safety.Additional Perks :
