Job Summary
The Nurse Manager – Vascular Telemetry is a Registered Nurse leader responsible for overseeing clinical operations, staff performance, and patient care delivery within a specialized vascular telemetry unit. This role ensures optimal patient outcomes through high-quality nursing practice, resource management, strong team leadership, and adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
The Nurse Manager drives quality, patient safety, communication, and staff engagement while serving as the unit’s retention and safety officer. This role collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and leadership to promote excellence in telemetry, cardiac / vascular patient care, and overall unit performance.
Core Responsibilities
Resources & Support
Lead and manage clinical operations, staffing, and workflow within the Vascular Telemetry unit.Serve as the unit’s chief retention and safety officer to support staff and maintain a safe environment.Oversee talent management, onboarding, scheduling, and resource allocation.Manage financial performance and apply LEAN strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.Promote relationship-based care and shared governance participation.Interdisciplinary Teamwork & Collaboration
Communicate effectively with all levels of nursing staff, medical providers, and hospital departments.Build strong relationships and resolve conflict to support a healthy work environment.Foster collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and continuity of care.Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional guidance for staff and emerging leaders.Exemplary Practice & Outcomes
Ensure staff competency in clinical care for vascular, cardiac, and telemetry patients.Uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional nursing practice.Lead quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement activities.Support innovative practices, change management, and a culture of continuous learning.Professional Development
Develop and manage operational budgets and performance goals.Promote staff growth through training, evaluations, and developmental opportunities.Represent the unit and organization in committees, service-line initiatives, and community outreach.Use operational expertise to improve business and clinical outcomes.Evidence-Based Practice & Quality
Support evidence-based practice, nursing research, and data-driven decision-making.Identify areas of risk and ensure strict compliance with safety and accreditation standards.Apply data analytics and technology to guide decisions for clinical and operational outcomes.Maintain confidentiality and uphold regulatory standards across all unit operations.Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — RequiredMaster’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) — PreferredLicensure & Certifications
Active RN License (Single-State or Multi-State Compact) — RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) — RequiredExperience
Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience — RequiredExperience in Vascular, Telemetry, or Cardiac services — PreferredSkills
