Job description

What You’ll Be Doing

Assist the department manager in developing the team and administering Member Retirement enhancements and maintaining relationships with the educational community. Ensures the delivery of superior Member / Participant service and 403(b) / 457(b) processing service level agreements are met.

  • Maintains relationships with all third party contracted and partners included but not limited to data processor, legal counsel, broker / dealer and National Benefit Services.
  • Replies to Members / Participants via written correspondence; responds to Member comments or suggestions; Assists Members / Participants in person and over the phone. Oversees the compliance of credit union retirement plan accounts; researches fees, tax statement problems and corrects appropriate forms (e.g., 1099R, 5498).
  • Provides technical guidance to branch / departments, school districts and superintendents on retirement products; monitors regulatory and policy changes and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance with outside regulators. Analyzes and makes recommendations as to any changes, updates in regulations, forms, methods and systems and directs the implementation.

Additional Job Functions

  • Supervises teammembers directly, including selection, training, performance appraisal and work allocation. Responsible for scheduling staff.
  • Helps establish, communicate and achieve the credit union’s goals and standards, ensuring these are fully communicated to and understood by all department staff.
  • Identifies areas to streamline department and credit union operations.
  • Complies with all government regulatory policies, internal policies and procedures, audit standards, remains current on and informed of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and apprises staff.
  • May act in the capacity of the Manager in his or her absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions
  • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of previous related experience required
  • 1-3 years previous supervisory experience required
  • Previous experience working with retirement products required
  • Securities and Insurance Licenses preferred
