Job Description

DUTIES: Wellmark Inc. seeks a Sr Remedy Software Engineer based out of our office at 1331 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address.

Conduct Remedy systems design and development of custom applications; leading programming related to systems analysis, design, and integrations. Provide ITIL best practices to support strategic discussion and direction in evolving the service catalog, self-service capabilities, cmdb, asset, incident, problem, change, service level, knowledge, and request management design, workflow, implementation, and overall best practice. Provide high-level analysis and implementation of innovative, efficient, and cost-effective business solutions for multiple platforms, while utilizing information technology, business, and industry trends. Guide other engineers in the design, development, code testing, debugging and resolution of issues that utilize emerging technology and meet and exceed Wellmark's evolving business needs. Provide advanced support in the gathering of information, necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization. Ensure analysis of defects to find root cause and guide others in the identification of potential improvement opportunities. Mentor, guide and problem-solve with other technology areas in the development and implementation of solutions, including how to use new or enhanced software/applications. Coordinate with company resources to accomplish integration of products and processes and complex solutions. Provide timely and accurate results, and exceptional customer service. Build relationships with Wellmark leaders and acts as consultant on business status, issues, process improvements and technology enhancements or capabilities. Participate in project proposals, estimates and proof-of-concept activities as needed. Maintain awareness of industry’s best practices and standards and proactively participates in industry/knowledge reference groups relative to role. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, or related;

72 months of experience in job offered or related;

Experience must include: 6 years of experience with Remedy; 6 years of experience with design, development, and integration using JavaScript, ASP, Angular, NodeJS, C#, .NET, HTML, XML, ARS, Rest Web Services, SOAP, LDAP, JSON, MSSQL; experience troubleshooting and developing creative technical solutions; experience with software development lifecycle methodologies; and experience with gathering information, performing necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, recommending solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization, using data to support recommendations and best practices.

ITIL 4 Foundation certification required.
