Clinic Director / Physical Therapist (Outpatient)

Job Type : Full-Time, Direct-Hire

Location : Litchfield County, CT

Base Salary Range : $100-115k (Depending on Experience)

Position Summary

The Clinic Director is a licensed Physical Therapist responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an outpatient physical therapy clinic. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership duties, ensuring high-quality treatment, staff development, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care :

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensure evidence-based practices and high standards of care.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including PTAs and aides.

Clinic Operations

  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and workflow to optimize patient access and satisfaction.
  • Monitor clinic performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support EMR best practices.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, train, and retain top clinical and administrative talent.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive clinic culture.

    • Business Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with referring physicians and community partners.
  • Participate in marketing and outreach initiatives to grow patient volume.
  • Manage clinic budget, expenses, and revenue targets.

    • Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (DPT or MPT).
  • Active state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of outpatient clinical experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and clinic management tools.
