Quality Assurance Coordinator (QAC)
The Quality Assurance Coordinator (QAC) will be responsible for implementing and managing the Elam Mental Health Center's Quality Management Plan. The QAC will also oversee compliance with accreditation, licensure, and contract requirements related to clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures outlined in the Quality Management plan. Center activities under the scope of the QAC's responsibility include training, Quality Management, Utilization Review, Accreditation, Licensure, Contract compliance, and Credentialing.
Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities) :
- Act as Chairperson of the Elam Center Quality Management Committee and ensure compliance with the Elam Quality Management Committee activities.
- Be a participating member of scheduled treatment team meetings and client-care conferences. Be a participating member of the Elam Center Management Teams.
- Participate in funding agency training activities as required. Responsible for monitoring department training, assessing agency training needs, arranging for appropriate staff training, and ensuring proper documentation and storage of training records.
- Monitor and facilitate compliance with clinical staff credentialing file reviews and reporting changes in staff credentialing status. Coordinates with auditors on annual audits.
- Maintain a managerial knowledge of applicable HIPAA & 42CFR Part 2 and ensure proper procedures are in place to safeguard client-protected health information. Plan and facilitate quarterly professional reviews of clinical records. Responsible for auditing the accuracy and timeliness of the medical charts of clients.

Adhere to the guidelines as stated in the Meharry Medical College Policy and Procedures manual.Be courteous, tactful, and discrete in relating to the public, other staff, and clients.Respect and protect clients' rights (including confidentiality) and ensure that clients respect the rights of others by appropriately intervening and / or reporting when program rule violations occurAcquire, maintain, and practice skills regarding sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients and other contacts in carrying out job responsibilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all stakeholders, providing honest, diplomatic, and unbiased feedback tactfully, respectfully, and courteously.Develops and maintains standardized reporting systems to track quality metrics, analyze performance data, identify trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights.Manages multiple quality assurance priorities and projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, while identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical process improvements.Education and Experience Required :
Hold a bachelor's degree in a counseling-related field of study from an accredited college.Must have at least three (3) years of behavioral health experience.Education and Experience Preferred :
Master's degree in a counseling-related field of study preferred.Licensure, Certification or Registration Required :
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's license and vehicle to facilitate local travel between the Elam Center and business-related agencies.Current BLS certification.
