Iron Worker Helper
Job Description
The Iron Worker Helper will assist skilled craftsperson by performing supportive duties as directed and will work under immediate supervision. Will often perform runner functions within the crew and assist in the layout and measuring of materials for installation. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
Responsibilities

- Load, transport, and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies in support of crew
- Assist with raising, placing and uniting girders, columns, and other structural steel to form completed structures
- Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation
- Perform minor maintenance / cleaning of tools and equipment
- Assist other craft workers as needed
Qualifications
Physical
