Summary :
The International Center provides educational programming for newly arrived immigrants and refugees with the goal of improving learners’ English proficiency and communication skills. The incumbent will develop, design, and deliver thoughtful and effective ESOL classes and provide individual support and connection to services for day laborers and their families at our office in Yonkers.
Salary : $32.97 per hour, this is a non-exempt hourly position based on a 35 hours work week or $60,000 annually.

Instructional responsibilities :
The incumbent is responsible for overall beginner ESOL course development and instruction in the Yonkers ESOL program.
Case Management responsibilities :
The incumbent will serve as the first point of contact and manage and support students enrolled in the Yonkers ESOL program.
Training and Staff Development :
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work :
This is a full-time position and work hours are Monday through Friday with evening hours required. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6 : 30 to 8 : 30pm. Weekend hours may be required to meet student needs.

Remain stationary and / or ambulate for the duration of instruction and presentations, addressing and / or monitoring students.
Qualifications :
Education and / or experience required :
Bachelor's degree in education, ESOL or related field; Masters preferred.
Proficiency in Spanish.
Experience working with multi-level adult ESOL learners in various contexts and familiarity with an array of pedagogical approaches to second language acquisition.
Experience with digital instruction including digital skills, familiarity with remote learning platforms, and knowledge of online resources.
Experience with BEST Plus preferred.
Previous experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Previous experience making referrals for social services, providing follow up, and tracking outcomes.
Experience with community outreach a plus.
Skills, Licenses and / or competencies required :
Highly motivated and self-starter.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Experience with data tracking and data entry across databases.
Computer literacy (expertise with Office Suite, Google Drive, and Zoom).
Ability / willingness to work evenings and occasional Saturdays.
