At Primrose School of Arlington, we are dedicated to helping young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them. We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Lead Early Preschool Teachers for children ages 2 to 5 to plan and implement a dynamic program that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. This will be done in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.
Primrose School of Arlington is a private preschool that offers a premier educational child care experience. We provide year-round programs for children from infant through elementary school age.
- Primary Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the overall supervision and daily operations of a classroom, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
- Adhere to all regulations set by Primrose School of Arlington and local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to child care and safety.
- Continuously assess each child's developmental needs and progress.
- Implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
- Collaborate with a member of the Leadership Team to plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Maintain an inviting, organized, and well-kept classroom that fosters creativity, exploration, and confident decision-making.
- Provide positive reinforcement and clear expectations for children's behavior.
- Take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
- Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
- Uphold professional appearance and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Assist in other areas as determined by the Director or designee.
- Desired Skills and Experience :
- Must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency in the state of Maryland, including Lead Teacher status.
- A 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education or any other field is required.
- Previous experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for the safe handling of children in various activities and situations.
- A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing the highest quality care.
