This position is responsible for designing the electrical power distribution system for the auxiliary equipment of our Gas Turbine projects. Our voltage levels are primarily in the low-voltage side (600V and below) with implementation of equipment such as MCCs, Panelboards, LV Transformers, DC Systems and Batteries.
Requirements
- Perform calculations, sizing of equipment (i.e. : breakers, overload devices, relays), sizing of cables / conduits / equipment spacing, illumination level calculations, maintaining BOM’s, and other design duties required by complexity of project.
- creating installation procedures, going from foundation to installation of equipment, revising and updating procedures
- reviewing drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, reviewing schematics, reviewing single line diagrams (electrical drawings), general arrangement drawings, need to know standards codes
- Interpret and integrate design requirements from parent company.
- Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from customer, vendors and field personnel.
- Use of SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL); SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and SmartPlant 3D (S3D) to design electrical power and control systems. Experience with similar database driven software will also be considered.
- Possess working knowledge of electrical design system for industrial facilities.
- Preferred to have experience in working with Generators (150 MVA ratings and above) for Gas or Steam Turbines with its Auxiliaries power plant experience is a plus .
