Paramedic- Echo Unit

Essential Job Functions

1. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide advanced life support (ALS) assessment treatment and transport.

2. Provides rapid ALS response and on-scene support to Medic 1 field units assisting with complex or high-acuity patient encounters.

3. Performs advanced airway management cardiac care medication administration and other interventions as authorized by BCMCA protocols.

4. Operates emergency vehicles safely in accordance with Michigan Motor Vehicle Code MDHHS EMS Division standards and Medic 1 policy.

5. Coordinates with field supervisors law enforcement fire and hospital personnel to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.

6. Maintains accurate and timely electronic patient care reports (ePCR) and ensures documentation complies with all MDHHS and CAAS standards.

7. Ensures operational readiness of assigned vehicle and ALS equipment including restocking cleaning and routine maintenance.

8. Acts as a mentor and preceptor for EMTs Paramedics and student interns as assigned by the Operations Manager.

9. Participates in quality improvement (QI) initiatives clinical audits and case reviews to support system-wide performance excellence.

10. Supports the Incident Command System (ICS) and may assume leadership or coordination roles during multi-casualty or large-scale incidents.

11. Maintains strict compliance with all HIPAA OSHA and infection control regulations.

12. Participates in continuing education and professional development as required by Medic 1 and state licensure requirements.
