Job Summary :

Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and / or residents in accordance with the patient's and / or resident's assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and / or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed.

CNA 1 or 2 needs to be proficient in speaking English in order to accurately and effectively communicate with patients and / or residents. Patients include those from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic standing, education, etc. Depending on the unit in which they are working, they may be required to learn specific skills necessary to provide the best care to patients and / or residents.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job :

CNA 1 :

• Experience : No prior experience required. CNA I's are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA II level within 6 months.
• License(s) : Current State of Alaska Certified Nurse Assistant License.
• Certification(s) : Reference Mandatory Education for Clinical and Support Staff Policy for most current Certification requirements. Alaska Food Workers Card required for Wildflower Court only.
• Other : Must be 18 years of age to work in Wildflower Court, must be 16 years of age to work in Bartlett Hospital.

CNA 2 :

Internal Hires : Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.

External Hires : Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.

CNA 1 starts at $22.40 per hour.

CNA 2 starts at $26.28 per hour.
