Job descriptionValidate wiring diagrams (produced internally or by subcontractors). Work with the Design Office to define the technical and functional resource design. Help machine technicians develop Product / Process in the workshop and / or in Mecaplast group production units. Perform site backups. Update diagrams. Determine machine capacity. Manage Poka-yoke tests. Research and optimize new techniques and technologies to improve production means in terms of functionality, cost, reliability, deadlines, quality, and safety. Analyze the economic impact and deadlines of adopted technical developments. Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback at project completion. Notify line manager of any deviations. Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent. Trade School Degree of five years or more proven experience preferred. Licenses / Certifications : Forklift Certified, Injection Molding Trade School Certificate, PLC, Robotic Knowledge. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities : Ability to work independently and with others. Basic computer skills. Good math skills. Organizational and communication skills. Mechanical and electrical aptitude. Blueprint reading. Ability to lift 80 lbs. Work at heights up to 40 ft., climb and work from ladders up to 25 ft. Stand for 8-12 hours. Independent thinker and problem solver. Job Purpose : Design and carry out production facility automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Study and perform the automation of Special Machines, Validation means, Tools, and other resources, and help to develop them at the workshop and in Mecaplast group units.
Ensure the automation of facilities, in compliance with specific and general specifications, based on the automation process of a project.
Conduct technological watch in his / her field of expertise.
Gather technical requirements from production unit departments prior to each start-up and seek line manager approval before implementation.
Qualifications
Must be able to read, write & speak English.
