Product Engineer – Product Introduction & Continuous Improvement for aluminum and magnesium aerospace castings.
Overview
We are opening a state-of-the-art facility in the SE metro. As a Product Engineer you will partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Quality to provide technical support throughout the manufacturing process in our dry-sand foundry. You will drive New Product Introduction, continuous improvement, and collaborate directly with key customers.
Responsibilities
- Review, direct, and approve pattern designs to ensure dimensional control meets definition requirements at the most efficient manufacture rate.
- Review, direct, and approve constituents to achieve metallurgical property requirements (gate methodology, heat treatment, sand mold attributes).
- Manage and coordinate technical input from foundry, tool shop, and machining into new product developments.
- Support Sales, Customer Service, and Quality in customer interactions regarding casting design specifications and manufacturing methods.
- Provide technical support to Production Supervisors for castings manufacture.
- Investigate, take corrective action, determine effectiveness of action, and document changes for technical problems identified.
- Work well in a collaborative environment to accomplish goals set by supervisor or management.
- Communicate effectively between coworkers, supervisors, and management team.
- Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Material Science or related field preferred.1–10 years previous experience in a Product Engineering or Engineering Intern role.CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.Excellent written, verbal & presentation communication skills.Ability to work effectively throughout all levels of the organization, including directly with our customers.Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills; strong mathematical skills.Benefits
