Heavy Equipment Operator / Foreman

A well-established excavation and construction company based in the Flathead Valley is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Foreman to join its growing team. Known for delivering high-quality site development, earthwork, and concrete services, the company takes pride in its commitment to safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship. They are seeking a highly experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Foreman to lead and manage crews for residential and commercial projects. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on experience with heavy equipment and earthwork, and the ability to maintain schedules, safety standards, and quality expectations on-site. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy equipment experience in a supervisory role and a proven track record of managing site crews effectively.

Essential Functions and Duties :

  • Supervise and lead on-site crews to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and assign tasks per project plans
  • Operate heavy equipment and assist with site layout using blueprints and specs
  • Manage site logistics, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct site inspections, enforce safety regulations, and mentor crew members
  • Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of heavy equipment operation and 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Skilled in reading construction documents, site plans, and using GPS layout systems
  • Strong understanding of excavation safety practices and OSHA regulations
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage crews effectively
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL and OSHA certification preferred
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in various outdoor conditions
