Description

The Landscape Architecture Program at Clemson University is seeking dynamic and passionate applicants for a one-year, non-tenure-track Visiting Lecturer position to begin in August 2025 . This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, design-focused program that fosters innovation, collaboration, and interdisciplinary education.

Clemson's Landscape Architecture Program is renowned for its dedication to high-impact design and making, and we are looking for an individual who shares this commitment and can contribute to both the undergraduate Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) and graduate Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) programs. This position is ideal for those with a strong desire to engage in teaching, research, and program development while contributing to a thriving academic environment.

Responsibilities

Teaching Core Courses : You will teach courses within both the BLA and MLA curricula, including a design studio and a lecture or seminar course.

Research and Creative Contribution : We encourage candidates to engage in research, creative scholarship, and professional development that enhances the program's reputation and impact.

Service and Engagement : As part of the School of Architecture, you will be involved in collaborative activities within the program and the larger academic community. A successful candidate will play an active role in shaping the future of the Landscape Architecture Program, contributing to both teaching and broader program initiatives.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess the following qualifications :

  • An accredited professional degree in Landscape Architecture (e.g., BLA or MLA),
  • A master's degree in landscape architecture or a closely related field,
  • Preference given to Ph.D. and / or licensed candidates,
  • Expertise in more than one of the following areas :

o Basic Design

o Community or Regional Design

o Design Implementation and Construction Documents

o Ecological Design, Restoration and Conservation

o Artificial Intelligence Applications in Landscape Architecture

o Manual and Digital Representation / Visualization

o History and Theory

Ideal candidates will bring an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and can inspire students while advancing the quality of the program. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to a progressive, hands-on learning environment and bring fresh perspectives to the field of landscape architecture.
