Primary Objective of Position
Working under the general guidance and direction of the Senior Engineering Technician, this position will assist in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology. This position will perform support engineering work including construction inspection and materials testing, land surveying, plan review, and public service duties related to public works. This position will also perform routine and entry-level technical engineering work to support the construction of sewer, stormwater, street, and water systems, and other public works projects and programs. This position may also assist with snow plowing and general maintenance of public streets, parks, right-of-way, sewer and water systems, parking lots, and other municipal facilities and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with a good driving record
- Completion of two (2) years of college level coursework in civil engineering technology, surveying, or a related field
- Two (2) years of municipal public works or civil construction experience may be substituted for each year of education
- Must have, or have the ability to acquire within one (1) year of hire, a State of Minnesota construction inspection certification for bituminous street and plant, concrete field, grading and base, and stormwater management

Health Insurance
The City of Ramsey offers health insurance through HealthPartners to all regular, full-time employees. Coverage is available in four tiers : Single, Employee + Child(ren), Employee + Spouse, and Family. Employees may also choose to waive coverage.

Life Insurance
