DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote dental health by executing dental prophylaxis, conducting oral cancer screenings, performing radiographic studies, documenting conditions of decay and disease, and adhering to the regulations of the Dental Practice Act.
  • Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatments by welcoming, seating, and draping them appropriately.
  • Provide information to patients and staff by effectively responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain hygiene instruments by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting the appropriate tools.
  • Choose materials and equipment for hygiene visits based on patient evaluations.
  • Execute dental prophylaxis by removing deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.
  • Identify diseases through comprehensive oral cancer screenings, visual examinations of gums, utilizing probes for periodontal disease assessment, and conducting radiographic studies.
  • Prevent dental decay by applying fluorides and cavity-preventing agents.

    • DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Current dental hygiene license in PA.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Exceptional communication skills for educating patients on oral health care.
