Job Title : Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist

Location : Pottstown, Pennsylvania (PA anesthesiology jobs)

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens

Shifts per Week : 5

Shift Duration : 10-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM)

Hours per Week : 32

Practice Setting : Small community hospital

Case Types : General, orthopedic, vascular, urology (high volume of orthopedic cases)

Call : Weeknight pager call required; weekend pager call offered

EMR System : Epic & iPro

Anesthesia Rooms : 4

CRNA Supervision : Yes (4 : 1 CRNA to MD ratio)

MDs Perform Own Cases : Yes

Anesthesiologist Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine

Completion of an approved residency in Anesthesiology

Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (required)

Active Pennsylvania medical license or willingness to obtain (Pennsylvania healthcare jobs)

ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)

Proficiency in peripheral nerve blocks (required)

Minimum 1 year of experience as an anesthesiologist

Healthcare Job Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department

Provide medical management for patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery and procedures

Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and verify patient consent

Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients

Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

Monitor patients' physiological conditions throughout procedures

Perform clinical interventions as needed

Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)

Perform own anesthesia cases as required
