Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Des Moines, IA 50316 – Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital Position : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Unit : Med Surg – 2 North Assignment Type : 13-week travel contract Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend, including holiday rotation EMR : EPIC Bed Size : 30 Patient Ratio : 1 : 4-5 Floating : Required across all Des Moines campuses Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience (2 years preferred) Post-operative surgical nursing experience (hip / knee, mastectomies, abdominal surgeries) preferred Ability to float to other hospital campuses as needed First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including post-op surgical cases Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process Administer medications and manage IV drips (PCA, Heparin) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR Float to other Med / Surg units or campuses as required Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the nursing team Take advantage of this outstanding travel nursing opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa.
