Design Engineer

Overview :

Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Design Enginee r position on its InterClad Team located in Champlin, MN. This individual would develop CAD submittal drawings, develop system parts, and produce models to be used in fabrication and installation of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems.

Responsibilities :

• Assisting in analyzing Curtainwall / Metal Panel drawings specifications and related data to determine design requirements
• Draft all system-specific details of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems, including all submittal drawings, shop drawings, and parts drawings using CAD based software
• Model all system-specific components of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems, including all extrusions, brake metal, steel, and accessory parts using Autodesk Inventor software.
• Assisting in creation of assembly drawings, bill of materials, part drawings, and frame drawings using modeling software
• Review drawings and models for accuracy and constructability ?
• Coach design / drafting team in best practices ? Work with Design Supervisor to ensure budgets, schedules, and quality criteria are met
• Ensure Project Management team receives the necessary deliverables to ensure job success
• Aid in the creation of new means and methods as well as the implementation and design of new systems.
• Participate in the structural and thermal engineering review and analysis of curtainwall systems

Salary Range : $72,000 - $85,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and / or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
