LSI announces a gratifying opportunity for a full-time Family Support Specialist in the Waterloo area for our Early Childhood Program serving Blackhawk County.

What You'll Do

Want to make a difference in the life of children and families? Family Support Specialist(FSS) offer home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of small children, providing parenting education, support, and advocacy. Family Support Workers link parents to resources, promote optimal child health and development, and problem solve with parents. Family needs and abilities are evaluated on an ongoing basis. Family Support Specialists assist families in designing individualized support plans and empower families overtime to achieve their chosen goals. Our home visitation program is part of a nationwide initiative designed to empower families to become and remain healthy and strong.

Position will be responsible for home visiting and coordinated intake within Blackhawk county.

What You'll Need

Preferred : Bachelor's degree in health or human service-related field or education.

Required : Associates degree in health and human service-related field or education and 2 years of experience.
