Mechanical Assembler

Job Summary :

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for fitting and assembling mechanical components and subassemblies according to specifications and blueprints, often in a production line or workshop environment. This role ensures the accurate and high-quality construction of mechanical products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Reading and Interpretation : Study assembly instructions, specifications, parts lists, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions or procedures to prepare for and execute assembly tasks.
• Assembly : Position, fit, and assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and potentially specialized equipment like robots or automated machines. This might involve installing components like engines, brakes, or transmissions (for automotive assembly) or fastening parts together for various mechanical products.
• Quality Control : Inspect and test completed units or components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Identify and report product defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
• Maintenance : Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance tasks and reporting malfunctions.
• Work Environment : Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to procedures, rules, and safety regulations.
• Training : May provide on-the-job training for new employees as needed.
• Teamwork : Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
