Visiting Pet Parkview Hospice Wabash County

Volunteers with certified therapy pets are needed to visit Hospice patients at Extended Care Facilities and in personal residences. Volunteers may choose to visit patients in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Huntington, Kendallville, LaGrange and the surrounding communities in Northeast Indiana. Parkview Hospice provides professional health care in the privacy of homes and in many area long-term care facilities. As a service of Parkview Health, we are a not-for-profit agency providing services to meet patient and caregiver needs. We are licensed by the state of Indiana, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and certified by Medicare and Medicaid, with locations in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Huntington and Kendallville, serving northeastern Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Visit Hospice patients at Extended Care Facilities or in personal residences with certified therapy pets.
• Choose patient visits in consultation with facility staff and families, respecting patient care plans and privacy guidelines.
• Provide companionship and support as part of the patient's overall care plan, adhering to Parkview Hospice policies.
• Coordinate visit schedules and travel within Northeast Indiana communities.
