LIFEGUARD MANAGER
- The Lifeguard Manager position is Seasonal
(Mid-April through Mid-September with hiring and training beginning as early as November)
Lifeguard Managers are expected to run the daily operations of the waterpark, which include but are not limited to, the scheduling and supervising of all aquatic staff, pool and facility maintenance, and emergency management. Lifeguard Managers enforce the safety of patrons and staff.
Lifeguard Managers oversee the organization, promotion, and staffing of events, programs, and rentals at Collinsville Aqua Park. Additionally, Lifeguard Managers are responsible for the training of staff and opening / closing of the park (daily and seasonally).
Essential Job Duties
Ensure safety of all guests and staffFacilitate communication between other aquatic staff and the Assistant Parks and Recreation DirectorAct as the Supervisor on Duty when the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director is unavailableProvide coaching, leadership, discipline (when needed), and support to aquatic staffMaintain and complete timely documentation for the facility and any incidentsProvide excellent customer service and create a fun environmentEnforce all rules, policies, regulations, and guidelines consistentlyCoordinate pre-season trainings and regular in-servicesAssist with pre-season facility preparation and post-season closing of the facilityFill in roles as needed (Lifeguard, Head Guard, Maintenance, etc.)Critically think and problem solve as neededProject professional image at all times when representing Collinsville Aqua ParkMinimum Qualifications
18 years of age or olderCurrent certifications from StarGuard Elite (Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor)While certification can be gained through the City of Collinsville, employment cannot be provided without certification. Certification must include the ability to pass all in-water skills tests in depths of at least 9 feet.At least 3-5 years of lifeguarding experienceIn-depth knowledge of lifeguarding best practices, swim lessons, aquatic programs, and pool mechanics and maintenance with ability to teach these necessary skills to subordinate staff or ability to learn these practicesFlexible scheduling that accommodates early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work effectively with supervisors, staff, and guestsAbility to act quickly, competently, and effectively during emergenciesPreference
Prior experience in the supervision and operation of aquatics programs, swim lessons, pool maintenance, and lifeguards. Previous supervisory or managerial experience. Proficiency in using various computer programs : including Microsoft Programs, Google Suite, and other software programs that may benefit the efficiency of the waterpark.
