American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current CA license and substantial pediatric and adult ER experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in a busy hospital acute care setting in the Emergency DepartmentAssignment covers both adult and pediatric ER, with approximately half pediatric patient population28-bed adult ER and 5-bed pediatric ER, with additional reclining chairs in each unitNight shifts, 12 hours in length, with every other weekend and 2 out of every 3 holidays requiredFloat to Pediatric ER is requiredUses Cerner EMR; experience preferredPatient ratios : ICU 1 : 2, pediatric ER 1 : 4, adult ER 1 : 4, procedural sedation 1 : 1All acuities seen from minor to critically ill, including STEMI, stroke, respiratory failure, trauma, and psych holdsProvide emergency care for a wide range of conditions including STEMI, CVA, burns, respiratory distress, and behavioral health casesStrong, team-oriented and traveler-friendly environmentOrientation includes 12 hours plus meeting with the ER educator to ensure educational requirements are metScrub colors : navy blue for RNs, cranberry for LVNsMust treat all team members, including EMS, with respectParticipation in major holiday coverage is mandatoryNo block scheduling; schedule flexibility is expected\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 3 years recent Emergency Department RN experienceExperience with both adult and pediatric ER requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMust pass EKG interpretation testing; advanced testing assigned to critical care RNsSignificant pediatric ER experience is required for those working in peds ERNo first-time travelers; prior travel experience requiredWill not consider travel teams or duos\n Benefits\n
