General Role and Responsibilities :
To assist the teacher, achieve teaching Objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
General Skills and Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent (Special Ed. Aide)
- Prior job experience preferred
- Meet requirements to be highly qualified (Special Ed. Paraprofessional - Associates degree, 60 college credits or pass the Indiana Praxis test)
Specific Responsibilities in This Position :
To work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacherTo assist the teacher in reinforcing materials or skills based on the understanding of individual students, their NEEDS, interest and abilitiesWill help student's master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teach to provide on-going skill developmentTo guide independent study, enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacherTo assist with the supervision of studentsTo participate in in-service training programs as assignedTo maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of all staffSpecific Skills and Knowledge for this position :
