Project Controls Specialist

You'll be part of a dedicated project controls team supporting aviation, transit, and roadway / bridge projects throughout the Carolinas. This opportunity involves managing several cost functions to provide our clients with accurate project budget information, cash flow forecasts, and contingency positions at a project level. These efforts include preparing and maintaining client budgets, reviewing invoices, recording project costs, and monitoring cost history and trends to develop estimated costs at completion. You'll identify and track potential cost overruns as well as investigate anomalies in actual expenditures against project budgets.
What You'll Do :
- Reviews, analyzes, and processes invoices and payment applications.
- Operates budget / cost system, including documenting and tracking changes to budget, commitments, and expenditures. May manage budget / cost function for a small project or portion of a project under general supervision.
- Supports change order process, including recording estimate-at-completion (EAC) impacts of potential or requested change orders. Tracks project EAC by recording all potential changes to cost accounts, including change orders, trends, and deviations.
- Generates standard and ad hoc reports including budget reports, forecast-at-completion estimates, and other reports under guidance.
- Establishes and / or tracks contingency allocation.
- Forecasts costs and records updated forecasts as provided by project team. Supports Senior Cost Analyst in performing cost risk assessments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need :
Associate's degree in Construction Management or Accounting and 3 years relevant experience, orIn lieu of education, 5 years of relevant experienceWhat We Prefer :
AACE Certified Cost Technician (CCT) or equivalentExperience working as a client's PM / CM agent (e.g., providing program management / construction management services), or as part of a design-build contractorProject Controls experience in each phase of the project lifecycle (e.g., predesign, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction phases)Experience in developing project controls deliverables for transportation projects / programs (aviation, transit, highway / bridges) is preferred.Locations : Charlotte, NC
