Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

If you are an Environmental Health & Safety professional looking for an opportunity to make a broad impact Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This position will be based at our Houston TX facility and will provide EHS leadership and support for both the Houston and Stephenville TX manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Houston Plant Manager this role will ensure compliance with all applicable environmental health and safety regulations policies and procedures. Travel to Stephenville (up to 30%) will be required to support site EHS initiatives and ensure consistency across both locations.

AS AN EHS PROFESSIONAL YOU WILL :

• Implement execute and ensure compliance with Emersons Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures across both sites.
• Ensure all required company and regulatory reporting requirements are submitted accurately and on time.
• Partner with and develop site personnel at both locations to support effective implementation of EHS programs.
• Lead or assist in the management of workers compensation cases.
• Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA EPA state and local regulators) for both facilities.
• Lead management personnel in investigating incidents and unsafe conditions; identify immediate solutions determine root causes and track corrective actions to completion.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to drive success in Corporate EHS audits and assessments.
• Conduct regular safety observations and inspections at both sites to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Represent management in EHS meetings and facilitate collaboration between Houston and Stephenville teams.
• Facilitate and deliver EHS training for employees supervisors and new hires.
• Oversee industrial hygiene compliance and environmental program management with support from environmental consultants as needed.
• Stay current on changes to environmental and safety laws or regulations that may impact either site.
• Support the Quality Management System as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
