Position : Store Director

Position Summary
The Store Director oversees daily store operations and provides leadership and direction to achieve profitable operation of the assigned retail store. The Store Director ensures that the goals of full, fresh, clean, and friendly are achieved and that a positive environment that engages and empowers all team members is maintained at store level. The Store Director is responsible for the development of all direct reports, to include department team leaders and all store team members. The Store Director is to continually improve the team's capacity for efficiency, effectiveness, service, and meet the company\'s succession needs. The role is expected to be a role model of the company by driving results while maintaining company core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Operational Excellence : Responsible for all facets of the store operations including inventory levels, store conditions, loss prevention, and security issues.
- Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers; demonstrates care and compassion for people; shows empathy and concern. Builds and maintains positive team relationships and relates well to diverse people; is approachable.
- Provides guidance to Assistant Manager and Department Team Leaders to connect the metrics to business processes and focus on continuous improvement strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Partners with the Department Trainers to achieve results.
- Ensures store operations are in full compliance with company, Federal, State, local regulatory safety, labor, workers compensation and health requirements.
- Meets and / or exceeds all metrics on the weekly operations dashboard.
- Evaluates and adjusts in-store processes (time, tools, MAP).
- Clearly communicates and enforces standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety to all team members.
- Proactively meets and / or exceeds expectations of internal and external customers.
- Performs additional management duties as assigned.
- Team Member Development : Develops a succession plan for all leadership positions within the store to meet company growth goals.
- Recruits, selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and develops the best Department Team Leaders to achieve store goals and ensure leadership talent.
- Sets clear improvement performance processes and expectations to Department Team Leaders to reduce turnover and keep turnover at company goals.
- Provides advice and assistance to store team to enable completion of responsibilities.
- Develops tactics to promote a positive work environment that ensures fair and consistent treatment of all team members and customers; leads by example to foster friendly employees.
- Leadership & Management Skills : Proven leadership to motivate, inspire and create engagement. Exemplifies the desired culture, values, and philosophies of the organization; maintains high ethics, integrity, trust, respect, loyalty, and humility.
- Ability to manage stress and adapt to change; leads store change initiatives; handles conflict and assumes responsibility for outcomes.
- Strategic thinking to anticipate trends and future consequences; develops improvement plans with leadership to ensure store objectives are met.
- Communicates company objectives to store team members.
- Manages a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints and interpreting policies and procedures.
- Coaches store leaders and team members through complex issues; prepares and reviews financial forecasts and performance analysis.
- Delivers payroll goals and maintains payroll discipline.
- Supports programs to control shrink and manage costs.
- Reviews KPIs with store team; explains income and financial statements; creates budgets and forecasts and calculates gross margins and productivity measures.
- Monitors operating standards and programs to ensure stores meet sales, expense, gross profit, and EBITDA objectives.
- Analyzes financial data to identify opportunities and remediates performance gaps.
- Develops quarterly sales, income, expense, capital, and labor budgets; manages expenses to stay within budget.
- Reviews merchandising programs and ensures timely execution of promotions; collaborates with store leadership to promote safety and a ZERO-accident culture.
- Maintains compliance with all laws and regulations; upholds company values, customer service philosophies, merchandising programs, pricing programs, and a winning environment at store level.
- Ensures facilities are maintained and repairs managed within budget; advises on remodels or major repairs as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of market conditions and competition; communicates viable suggestions to the Store Director.
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years in a progressive operations role including managing different sales volume stores.Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with strong multitasking skills.Proven experience in dealing with diverse team members and management issues.Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws related to running a store, including compliance and labor laws.Ability to articulate business needs and develop practical action plans.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills; able to resolve problems using sound judgment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experienced in preparing reports and presenting to management.Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English and Spanish sufficiently to understand conversations and documents.Proficient computer skills (email, Microsoft Office).Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Within this range, individual pay is determined by location and other factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and / or training.
