About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience in Pre-op, Same Day Surgery, or PACU in an acute care setting of similar size and complexity.

Minimum 2 years of experience with airway management.

Experience with intravenous lines and post-procedure care obtained in a Same Day Surgery / PACU environment.

License :

Valid RN license in California

Certifications : BLS

ACLS

PALS

Must-Have : EPIC experience

Demonstrated critical thinking skills

Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job

Description :

Provides competent care to patients with a variety of diagnoses, including diseases of the cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, neurological, renal, and endocrine systems, sepsis, carcinoma, and pre- and post-operative surgical patients.

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the nursing process in addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of patients.

Recognizes life-threatening conditions and intervenes appropriately.

Manages care for patients at risk for injury and skin breakdown.

Provides patient education and discharge instructions utilizing the electronic health record.

Develops, implements, and coordinates an interdisciplinary plan of patient and family care.

Anticipates and recognizes potential problems and intervenes appropriately by notifying and updating the appropriate nursing staff.

Executes individualized nursing processes through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the bio-physical and psychosocial needs of patients.

Provides leadership by managing care through others, using infection control principles and standards of practice.

Interprets and explains standards of practice to other staff, including legal implications.

Demonstrates basic knowledge of unit-specific age criteria for the patient population.

Completes unit-specific orientation and competencies in a timely manner.

Must be able to travel as required for the job.

Accesses the appropriate level of information necessary to complete job duties.
